Most of my clients are entrepreneurs, business owners, executives and their management teams. Often, the companies I work with wish to take their success to the next level but are stuck in the inertia of their current business practices and beliefs. For over 15 years I have helped companies with revenues ranging from start-up to $50 million achieve breakthrough results and success in industries as varied as food, automotive, insurance, construction, technology, education, medical, real estate and more.
A general description of my business acceleration process:
If I were to describe what works about the business acceleration, the first thing I would say is that it deals with human dynamics. That is why I have been able to create success in many different industries – from construction to food marketing to technology to automotive. It is not about the industry itself, but rather people. Thus, by understanding the core of the team and what is in the way of their success, I am able to unleash their power and potential and help them create the results they desire.
I don’t consider this rocket science. Basically, the tools I access are communication/language, generating clarity and awareness of goals, creating a focus that serves each client, and then providing both direction and accountability. Another key tool is creativity and fun. I notice that the more these last two are present in the coaching, the more spectacular the results can be.
At its core, my Business Acceleration System addresses 3 key areas – People, Process & Priorities.
People – In a nutshell, we make sure you have the right people, with the right skills, in the right jobs. This piece may also involves “getting the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus” to borrow from Jim Collins, author of Good to Great.
Process – As companies grow, it is important to identify, define, and establish processes that will create a platform that supports the companies growth. This is often an area that entrepreneurial companies resist, thinking it will kill their creative spirit. However, the flaw in that thinking is that typically what brought that company to its current level of success will not bring it to the NEXT level of success.
Priorities – Surprisingly, many companies do not have a clear vision, defined goals, established plans and clear milestones to create and measure success and ensure accountability. This part of the process establishes those for the company in an easy, painless way.

On a more personal/specific level, there are several reasons why the work I do is successful.
• I listen for what matters, rather than the stories people like to tell.
• I always mine for the opportunities.
• I hold no judgment about people. I simply celebrate who they are.
• I coach people for results that come from the heart.
• I look from other perspectives.
• I am willing to be wrong.
• I am willing to consider/try anything.
• I connect with people in a way that allows them to be present. Too often people are worried about the future or regretting their past. By helping them to get present, they can tap into the brilliance, power and miracles that are always available to them.
Here are some of the many benefits my work provides and specific successes some of my clients have created.
• Create more possibility in your business.
• Uncover and remove limiting beliefs and practices that hinder your success.
• Generate breakthrough thinking and insights.
• Obtain greater focus in your business.

The Basics of My One-on-One Work with Clients:
When I work one-on-one with clients my service to them typically includes three (3), 1-hour meetings/calls per month. While I do set a time limit, my commitment and focus is always on the client not the clock. My goal is to create breakthroughs with my clients and sometimes we may work past the hour if necessary and our schedules permit.
In addition to the regular meetings, I also welcome “just-in-time” coaching calls. These are calls, typically around 10 minutes, where the client has had something unexpectedly come up in their life or business and wants the opportunity to discuss the situation.
I also welcome emails from my clients and promise to respond to them within 24-48 hours.
For each client meeting/call both the client and I set an intention and outcome we desire for that meeting/call. The discussions are designed as a Socratic approach where we engage in a lively dialogue where I provide active listening and thought-provoking questions to move the thought process toward the meeting’s intention and outcome. I will often leave a few questions or actions for the client to consider between meetings.
One of the most valued parts of my coaching is the follow-up I provide. After each meeting or call, I send the client an email with a summary of our conversation, the promises that were made, next steps, and any additional thinking, insights, resources, etc. that I believe will help my client achieve their desired goals.
I have found over the past 17 years of doing this work that it takes at least 3 months for a client to gain traction on the goals and intentions they wish to accomplish. Certainly a lot of progress is made during those first few months, but I have found that there is something magical about the 3 month mark, and it is at that point that the begin to move toward their desired future with more velocity. As such, I ask my clients to make at least a 3-month commitment to our work together. I do not ask them to make this commitment for my sake, but rather theirs, for it is only with a strong and true commitment to themselves that changes will occur.
Hiring the right business accelerator depends on two key things. One, does their expertise meet the client’s needs. And two, is there good chemistry between the accelerator and client. If at anytime a client finds that my support does not serve their needs, I warmly welcome the conversation and will help them find a someone who better supports them and will have them achieve the goals they desire.
3 Levels of Service
I offer 3 levels of services to my clients depending on what they desire most.
In Person – For those clients that are local, I am happy to meet with you in person. As you might imagine, there is a tremendous amount of additional value in meeting face-to-face. While the other services are fantastically effective, there are many additional intricacies a good business accelerator can read and leverage when meeting a client in person.
Phone/Skype – A lot of work in this industry is done over the phone. This is an efficient and proven way to generate accountability and success with most clients. The addition of video, while not necessary, allows for some of the nuances that might be gained from in person meetings.
Combination – The best of both worlds! Use both technological advances and a human touch to leverage the most from your arrangement.
My inspiration for doing this work:
Perhaps the best way to answer this question is to refer to the tagline on my business card and a line in my personal mission statement. My business card reads, “Unleashing the Human Spirit.” A line in my mission statement reads, “To always inspire others to see and achieve their greatness.”
I have an innate belief in possibility. It truly amazes me what can happen to an individual or organization when they believe in themselves. Suddenly, they realize they are capable of anything. In the beginning of our work together, I often say that I will believe in my clients more than they will believe in themselves. However, once they get traction and start to see what is possible, that belief is transferred to them and they begin to accomplish great things.
What motivates me:
Two things. One, the gratification and acknowledgement of proving over and over again the truth of the fact that we are truly capable of anything we desire and set our minds to. Two, witnessing the transformation of people and organizations as they awaken to the power they hold within.
